When I found out I was pregnant I looked all over for the perfect pregnancy journal.
The perfect journal was too expensive.
Then I thought to myself, why buy a journal? I’ve got a blog!
21 weeks along, I’m here to confess that I’m a horrible pregnancy journaler.
Most of this is due to the fact that I didn’t feel too great for the first few months and I didn’t want my blog to turn into “Heather complaining about her blessings in public.”
I’m feeling much better, although much more pregnant now. I’m sharing the following picture against my better judgment, because I hate it but Steve says it is fine. Ignore the blindingly white arm and just notice the big ol’ pregnant belly, okay?
Next time I’ll try and post a picture with my face in it. One where you can actually tell it is me.
For those of you who didn’t hear via phone or Facebook, Steve and I are excited to announce that we are, most likely, going to be having a little girl.
The doctor wasn’t 100% sure if he could see girl parts, but he was 100% sure he didn’t see boy parts. We’ll have a confirmation ultrasound on July 8th, due to the fact that I have a low placenta and they want to make sure I don’t have placenta previa when it is time to deliver.
I’m very excited. Girls are a lot of fun to sew for, as you can see in my previous post.
In other pregnancy news, I had my third paranoid visit to the doctor today.
My first paranoid visit was when I was extremely dizzy, which turned out to be migraines without headaches. The second paranoid visit was when I vomited blood- just retching too hard. Sorry for the visual. Today’s visit was due to some pelvic pain. Steve and I hit a big bump on the freeway coming home from Sequim yesterday, and it hurt so bad that I yelped. We then proceeded to hit a second invisible bump, which also made me yelp. The pain has continued since then, waxing and waning a bit. It is most likely a jarred ligament causing the pain, no cause for concern. I’m just supposed to rest it a bit.
The word rest brings me to my final point in today’s blog post:
Can I please get all of your best advice for pregnancy sleep? I’m having a hard time sleeping lately. What worked for you? What do you suggest I try? I’m open to trying just about anything right now.
In the meantime, I’m going to take advantage of the fact that I’m yawning, go pop a Unisom and try and again.
